What does the W Atlanta hotel renovations include?

W Atlanta Midtown Hotel
Opening in 2009 the W Atlanta Midtown hotel was happy for an upgrade as it is one of the largest W locations in the World and the first in Atlanta.
Over the past ten years, it has welcomed many guests, many of which return again and again.
A floral motif with a modern twist, in honor of Atlanta, which carries the nickname ‘The City in the Wood’.
The public spaces of the hotel – the Living Room (W’s energetic & social lobby/bar), Welcome Desk and patio, display this vibrant tribute.
These renovated public spaces now have an open concept, providing great flow and a strong welcome to guests traveling from the bustling streets of Atlanta to both the relaxing indoor and outdoor seating areas.
And of course, the guestrooms have been modified. The hotel room, including 33 specialty suites, now incorporate playful décor and exclusive murals by Imago Production and reflect the strong presence of music and entertainment within Atlanta’s culture.

W Atlanta Buckhead Hotel
The W Atlanta Buckhead hotel now has an edgy, modern colorful look thanks to the W Atlanta design team’s partnerships with C+TC Studio and STUDIO 11.
C+TC Studio redesigned the guest rooms and iconic rooftop bar, Whiskey Blue. While STUDIO 11 were the visionaries behind the new Living Room.
The hotel’s 286 guest rooms have been updated with vibrant décor, for example, vivid headboards, armoires, and damask wall coverings. They also include technologic updates with 55-inch TVs and Nespresso machines. The specialty suites have not been forgotten as they have received new artwork, updated lounge area, chaises, and cocktail cubbies.
Other renovations and updates include:
- Vibrant and splashy artwork, throughout the hotel, from local artists to express Atlanta’s passion for fashion, design, art, and culture. Local artists include Lela Brunet, Greg Mike, and Chris Veal.
- The hotel also has a new welcome area, complete with an open layout, leading to the café style seating of the Living Room. At night the Living Room will now offer a live DJ set to get your evening swinging.
- Thanks to the colorful works of Chris Veal a new epic selfie spot has been created within the hotels bar Whisky Blue. See how Chris creates the mural on his Instagram, @caveal.
- New furnishings, faster connections, improved lighting, and modern artwork have also been given to the meeting spaces and FIT gym.

W Atlanta Downtown Hotel
The most noteworthy upgrade at the W Atlanta Downtown hotel is the new restaurant Local Motives, whose décor and ambiance balances themes of art, history, and culture.
Local Motives is a modern restaurant with a buzzing bar, dining area, a café great for freelancers and a private dining room for events. Each zone is built with stone and concrete to reflect the neighborhood’s industrial past. Pink pastels and vibrant blue hues are included in the design to show a softer side of the area.
The menu showcases some of Atlanta’s traditional dishes like breakfast bowl Geechie Boy Red Grits and Cheddar, whilst including a modern local favorite, for example, Charred Octopus. Local Motives is also conscious of its impact on the environment, they source it meat selections and organic products locally.
Beverages play a strong part on the Local Motives menu as coffee blends are brewed locally on Edgewood Avenue and juices and milkshakes are handcrafted at the bar, provided the guest with exactly what they want.
