Yay!! The year has flown by and it is once again time for 2 weeks of beach fun, at the annual, each day from 10 a.m. you can explore some epic sand sculptures and creations, until April 28^th. If this sounds like fun, plan a visit to Clearwater Beach, Florida.

No year is the same, as every festival is based on a theme, this year it is ‘a journey around the globe’. What sand sculptures do you think you’ll see?

The Sculptors

All the sculptors will be sharing their passion for art and sand, they are traveling from all over the World, like Canada, USA, Mexico, and the Netherlands. Learn more about the sculptors, by clicking here.  This year will be the first year a Spanish speaking sculptor will be present at the festival. Plus, there are two female sculptors, who could inspire your little girls.

Activities at Sugar Sand Festival

As well as admiring the magnificent sand sculptures there are lots of family-friendly activities and events for you to enjoy.

Sand Sculpting Classes: Every day you can take a free Sugar Sand Sculpting Class at 2 pm, plus an additional Saturday morning class at 11 am. You can learn how to effectively carve into the sand and build your own sandy masterpiece.

Speed Sand Competition: See a live competition between the professional sand sculptors, at 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The interactive show will be fun and fast as each contestant has a matter of minutes to create something awesome out of the sand.

Market: Stroll along Pier 60, located next to Clearwater Beach, to admire and buy the locally made treasures.

Outdoor Movie Theatre: Starting dusk on Friday and Saturday you and your family can enjoy a great movie together on the beach. It’s totally free unless you want to buy popcorn, treats, and drinks. Movies include Beauty and the Beast, Aquaman and Finding Dory, for the full schedule click here.

Fireworks: Each Saturday during the festival, (13/20/27 April) don’t go home early because you will miss the 9 pm fireworks display.  It’s totally free! Bring a blanket or deck chair and relax as you watch.

How to get tickets to the Sugar Sand Festival
