A better look at Hotels in Spain
Due to the number of visitors in Spain each year, hotels and other tourist residences all over the country have to do what they can to fit the needs of every guest. This does give tourists a number of options regarding accommodations once they arrive in the country.
Hotels in Spain can be categorized into five different kinds and are ranked with the usual one to five stars. As most people know, stars are used to relate to the quality of service that a hotel offers, as well as other characteristics that make it a memorable experience for guests. One star is basic, while five stars show exceptional service and luxury. This is also known as Gran Lujo or Grand Luxury in Spain. It is also a good way to estimate the rates of a certain hotel and gives an idea on where you really would want to stay.
Of course, not everyone wants the conventional, so it is good to know that Spain does have other kinds of hotels that are more like hostel-residences. While they don't have restaurants or bars, they still do serve breakfast to guests. More modest in both look and feel, hostels are usually from one to three stars, but that doesn't mean that they're not desirable. In fact, a lot of people prefer them for their homely atmosphere and hospitable environment.
There are also the Paradores or the so-called castle hotels in Spain. They are state-operated hotels established in old monumental buildings like as castles, monasteries, convents, old manors, and so on. Salvaging them from abandonment and neglect, they have been considered for their historical and artistic value. Renovated as paradores hotels, they offer the same amenities as modern hotels while being a whole different experience.. They are usually within the 3 or 4-star ranks and are definitely some of the most interesting hotels you'll ever see.
